Now we see Brian McCann. A walk to McCann. Cain stayed outside on the leftie McCann, so look for all the pitchers to do that in this game. Cain has lovely movement on his 2-Seam fastball. Not so much velocity as movement. And Freddy Sanchez retires the batter in a groundout.
Half Inning Over
Tommy Hanson, the electric young one, is on the mound. He pitches to Andres Torres. And a beautiful curveball rings up Torres. That was a really fabulous pitch right there. Hanson is showcasing his electric breaking stuff here. Freddy Sanchez hits the ball just past Alex Gonzalez for a single into left field. Aubrey Huff strikes out on another magnificent curveball by Hanson. Hanson's fastball velocity so far has been around 94 MPH. Hanson is being picky with his zone. 3-0 on Buster Posey. And with a walk, there are runners on first and second. And a drive to left! It's a mammoth home run for the veteran, the magnificent, the product of the GM's genius! Pat BURRELL! He's stuck a burr (a prickly plant for those of you who don't know) in young Hanson's face. And Hanson recovers. A ground ball out.
We've got it friends, it's 3-0. Hello, San Francisco! That's a rhyme, people.
