Cincinnati and Philidelphia- Bro's Take

It's perfectly simple. Roy Halladay will win the NL Cy Young Award in 2010. Easy. No question. His stats are incredible. He's gone 21-10 with a sparkling 2.44 ERA. He's had a better ERA at home than away. That speaks volumes, since Citizens Bank Park is an excellent hitter's park. He has given up 24 home runs, but with 219 strikeouts and 3o walks, he is certainly one of the best pitchers in the league.

He's thrown a perfect game and a no hitter this season. The no hitter was thrown in his first career postseason game.

Halladay even drove in a run with a single to left field.
His only walk of the night was to Jay Bruce, and quite honestly, many of the pitches to him were either borderline pitches or strikes.

Carlos Ruiz finished off a tough, tough play in front of the plate with a throw to Ryan Howard. He then ran to Halladay and hugged him as if he had been away at war for a decade.

At 6:00 Eastern today, the Reds take on the Phillies. Bronson Arroyo can enter himself into the annals of Postseason heroes.

If Roy Oswalt could pitch another Phillies no hitter, that would be something else.

I'm doing a live blog for the game tonight at 6, so don't miss!!
