To start the preseason, the Celtics are 3-1 to start the preseason. They have beat the 76ers, Nets, and Raptors, however, their only loss came against the 76ers as well. They beat the 76ers by 28, then beat the the Nets and Raptors by four points each. Currently they trail the Knicks by 5 going into halftime. Jermaine O'Neal is finally playing, and his stats are worrying. The rebounds are up there at about 7 per game, however, the one point per game is not encouraging. Shaq's stats have been a lot better. He's had nine points per game, and even thought the four rebounds per game are low, Shaq may just steal the starting spot from Jermaine O'Neal. An encouraging stat is that Rondo is dishing 7 assists per game. Also, KG is averaging a solid 5.3 ppg and 4 rpg, a very good sign, for all of these players workload will go up as they are nearing the opening day game against the Heat. The Heat have been injury plagued this preseason. Dwyane Wade is already sidelined with a hamstring injury, and LeBron James left the 96-85 win over CSKA Moscow with leg cramps. Even if LeBron thinks the injury isn't serious, the Heat should keep an eye on him. If these two studs are out, the Heat will plummet, as the surging Chris Bosh won't hold up the team. For the Celtics, other then Kendrick Perkins, sidelined by an ACL tear, is not seriously hurt. The Celtics want to keep it that way throughout the preseason and regular season.
