Carl is the new CC in the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry, as his first name (Carl) starts with a C and his last name (Crawford) starts with a C. He has the potential to be the better CC in the rivalry, as his hitting prowess looks to overshadow the pitching of Yankee Carston Charles Sabathia. Right now, reports from The Boston Globe tell me that the contract is worth 7 years and 142 million, which seems to be an outrageous deal, but the athleticism of the player promises to keep him a good player late into his thirties. He would be under team control until age 36 under the reported contract, according to other reports. He promises to be an absolutely incredible player to have under your control. He hit .307 with 19 homers and 90 RBIs and had a .356 OBP and a .495 SLG. He won a Gold Glove for his fantastic play at left field, making obscenely good plays, and stole 47 bases. The man is an absolute superstar, one that was the Ray's franchise player and holds the majority of their team records. He promises to be an athletic presence in left field in Fenway, simply because his speed and acceleration are unmatched in baseball. He can play center if asked to, but the best part of his game, to me, is yet to be mentioned. He hit 13 triples in 2010, along with 33 doubles. If those triples hadn't been triples, he probably would have had around 46 doubles, an amazing number. This is a credit to both his hitting and baserunning skills. Simply, I think he's one of the best players around, certainly the best hitter on the market this winter, as other opinions have told me and will tell you, and I am thrilled to have him. The most thrilling thing, though, is the following image, provided by Jason Robbins, and the website of this image is unknown. I am just saying I got it through Jason.
