What a game that was last night. That was a great game played by the Bruins filled with big hits, plays, and especially goals. The final score was 3-2 Bruins in OT.
Summary:
The Bruins took the first goal as Milan Lucic scored on the wrap-around at 13:21 into the first period. The goal was assisted by David Krejci and Nathan Horton. There were no more goals scored in the first so on they moved to the second. There was again only one goal scored in the second by it was scored by Buffalo. That goal was scored by Luke Adam on a snap-shot and assisted by J. Pominville and M. Mancari. The goal was scored at 12:57 in the second period. Into the third both teams went. Thomas Vanek took the lead for the Sabres as he scored the first in the third which was assisted by T. Myers and J. Leopold on a snap-shot. It was scored 4:07 in the third. With around six minutes to go (13:39 to be exact), Nathan Horton scored an unassisted goal to bring the score back to a tie game as it was 2-2. He scored his goal on a wrist shot. There were no more goals in the third, so all tied up, both teams went into overtime looking for the first and last goal. Early in the OT period, the Bruins got the best of luck as they were put on the power-play for extra time as Marc Savard took one for the team as a Buffalo stick hit his face. They were on the power-play for a little bit until the game ended. Mark Recchi scored 2:11 into OT!!!! To tell you the truth, it was quite an odd goal as Mark was the only man in the Garden who knew that they had scored. Daniel Seidengerg took a slap-shot from the point and Mark tipped it. The puck was re-directed as it went bar down! It was a snipe. The play continued as the referee called it "NO GOAL". After the next whistle was blown, the ref was sent to review the bar-down snipe. It was fairly obvious that the puck went bar down. The ref knew it too, so after the review, he pointed to center-ice and that was it. The game was over then. What a game! GO BRUINS!!!!!
