Last Saturday the Bruins took on the Toronto Maple Leafs. It was a tough game that came down to the last second, and eventually went into the shoot-out. The Bruins came on the short end after the shoot and lost in the shoot-out. Below is a brief scoring summary.
1st Period:
Nathan Horton drew first blood as he scored 4:48 into the first. He scored on a snapshot and was unassisted. There was one more goal scored in the first and was scored by the Maple Leafs. The goal was scored by Carl Gunnarsson. The goal was scored 15:53 into the first and assisted by T. Bozak and N. Kadri.
2nd Period:
The second period was a very quiet period with no goals scored.
3rd Period:
The third goal of the game was scored by Gregory Campbell 6:08 into the third period. It was scored on a snap shot and assisted by T. Seguin and J. Boychuck. There was one more goal scored by Toronto as they rallied late in the game to tie the game at two-a-piece. It was scored with 42 seconds left in the game! That could have been a win if we had held them off for just that final minute. It was scored Kris Versteeg and assisted by C. MacArthur and T. Kaberle.
Overtime:
Overtime was a nail-biter as everyone in the stadium was on there feet, but there were no goals scored, so the game was pushed into a shoot-out.
Shoot-out:
It started out with a quick goal by Nazem Kadri as he scored on Thomas. That goal was followed by Tyler Sequin as he used a nice move to get past the Toronto goalie. The next attempts for both teams (Kulemin(TOR.) and Krejci(BOS.)) were both fails so to the third round they went. Phil Kessel, the former Bruin scored on Tim Thomas so it was then all up to Michael Ryder to see if the game would go farther than three round. Michael Ryder missed his opportunity and did not score. The game was over then, but it was a well-played game by both teams.
