Friday vs. Capitals: After Tim Thomas was pulled for allowing three goals, the bruins made a vigorous comeback in the third period scoring 3 goals in less than 6 minutes. Shortly after the comeback, the Capitals scored a quick goal to make it 4 - 3 with 5 minutes to go. The Bruins then had chances, but could not capitalize. With a minute to go, the Bruins pulled Tukka Rask. Washington had shots on net, but they Bruins blocked them until Alex Ovechkin ripped one into the net for a 5 – 3 lead and the game.
FINAL SO | 1 | 2 | 3 | OT | SO | T |
BLUES | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 (2-2) | 2 |
BRUINS | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 (1-3) | 1 |
Saturday vs. Blues: Tukka Rask started the game and stayed in for all of it unlike Friday night with Thomas. The Blues quickly striked first in the first couple of minutes. Soon after, the Bruins dinged one off the post. This shot went behind the goalie, but never crossed the “plane”. There wasn’t any scoring through the second for both teams, despite many shots going off both teams’ posts. Finally, with about 6 minutes to go in the 3rd period the Bruins scored to tie it up at 1. The game stayed that way for the final six minutes, and through OT. During the shootout, the Blues beat the Bruins 2 – 1 and that was the game.
