There were some interesting decisions by Major League Baseball franchises today. The Blue Jays, by way of an unknown form of transaction, got Miguel Olivo, and subsequently did not pick up his option. The Blue Jays also did not pick up Kevin Gregg's option. That is an enigma, because Gregg was a solid closer for most of the season. The Giants, in a surely ridiculed decision throughout San Francisco, did not pick up Edgar Renteria's option! I don't know if there have been many cases of a World Series MVP leaving his team after that series, and Hideki Matsui and possibly Renteria are those I know of.
