Felix Herenandez was announced the AL Cy Young on Thursday despite having only 13 wins. His is ERA was EXTREMELY low this year and that had to be a main factor he won the award. His ERA was 2.27 the lowest in the MLB and was second in total strikeouts. The Mariners were also the second-lowest run scoring team in the league so that didn't help Felix's record at all. David Price came in second in the voting.
AL Manager of the year went to Ron Gardinhier of the Minnesota Twins. The Twins were a surprise to most people this year, making it to the ALDS but losing to the Yankees. It was about time he won, after coming in 2nd 5 straight times before this one. The Twins record this year was 94-68 as they competed at the end of the season for the best record in baseball.
NL Manager of the year went to Bud Black of the San Diego Padres. The Padres had an incredible year, until they went on a 10-game losing streak at the end of the season and came up short by two games. The NL West was one of the hardest divisions in the MLB, other than the AL East.
The only awards that are left to be announced, are the batting awards, and the MVP awards.
