Red Sox vs. Blue Jays tonight

The Red Sox are rested and resurgent after the off day, and they now take on the Blue Jays to start a ten game homestand. Hopefully, the Red Sox' luck will turn, and they can gain some games on the Yankees and/or create more breathing room in the wild card race against the Rays. Tonight, however, Youkilis is back in the lineup, and he says he will have surgery after the season is over. Tim Wakefield will take another shot at win #200 tonight, and he will face Brandon Morrow. A week or so ago, the Jays took three of four from the Red Sox, in which Tim Wakefield was robbed of his 200th win when the bullpen imploded. Game one of the series ended in dramatic fashion when rookie Bret Lawrie hit a game winning home run in the bottom of the 11th. So, the Red Sox could have easily taken three of four from the Jays, but they couldn't prevail. More good news from Boston- Josh Beckett will be ready for the Rays series. The Red Sox are 4 games back of the Yankees in the division and 3 games ahead of the Rays in the Wild Card.
