Reports came out last night around 9:00 PM that the NBA will cancel all preseason games and if there is no agreement by October 11th, regular season games will start to be cancelled. More and more players are signing overseas which makes me believe the NBA is in serious trouble.
What does this do to the NBA?
Not only does it put a bad mark on the NBA, but it will frustrate players, TV crews, and die-hard fans. But this is a great scenario for the NFL and NHL. The NHL has always had viewer problems, but without the NBA this opens the door the the NHL to take the main stage and will welcome many new fans to the sport. As for the NFL, they went through a lockout, but they are holding up strong. This just makes the NFL owners look amazing.
