A few things I picked up from watching the Pistons-Celtics game and other games this season:
- The announcers in the video games and in real life are right: Paul Pierce has little lateral quickness, (and he was especially slow last night) but he's confident; he will slowly work his way into any defense without any thought of not making a shot. He also drilled a fadeaway jumper that they kept showing, which really showcased his beautiful shot.
- Jermaine O'Neal plays best when agressive; he was looking for his shots and always wanted the ball in the paint.
- JaJuan Johnson runs like a very lanky animal. All of his limbs are flying all over when he takes a shot. Brandon Bass is the same way.
- Keyon Dooling has a very weird jumpshot motion; he reaches back above his head before shooting.
- Ben Gordon would be a good shooting guard for a contending team: his stepback jumper is lethal because he always knocks it down, no matter how far he steps back.
- The Big Three looked very relaxed and happy on the bench during the blowout.
- Avery Bradley is being far too aggressive: he can't even make his open shots, which shows he needs to be a complimentary part, work harder, and stop being assertive. It's very annoying.
- Paul Pierce was glowing this whole game. It was good to see him back, but his smile is very heartwarming, because you can tell that he is thrilled to be back in the game. He looked so satisfied and he practically bled happiness.
